Chris – Creative Director and founder

With 50 years of experience in the construction industry, from an indentured electrical apprentice working very much ‘hands-on’ through estimating, project management, design, and multiple levels of business administration up to managing national companies, Chris’s knowledge is extensive. He is passionate about the environment and loves to find solutions—the bigger the challenge, the better.

Experienced in building new hospitals for the NHS, refurbishing Grade II listed buildings for the University of Bristol, project managing capital projects for the government, and serving as principal designer for water cooling systems for helicopter manufacturing industries is the glamorous side. However, the smaller, more challenging issues—controlling tight budgets and being creative—are very rewarding.

Developing a Weston-based office to showcase how upcycling can really work is incredibly fulfilling and great fun, and Chris loves to share this with everyone, speaking at length on how to reduce carbon emissions from the ground up. The creation of the Living Walls in the office is stunning and demonstrates how the principles of biophilic design can help improve well-being and bring us closer to nature.

Chris manages a small portfolio of properties, so he knows firsthand the challenges and complexities involved.
